 FAQs

  • The Empowered Period Project is a community initiative by Butterfly Counseling dedicated to fighting period poverty and stigma. Our core offering is a Blessing Box that provides free menstrual hygiene products to anyone in our community who needs them. It's about ensuring dignity and access to essential items.

  • A Blessing Box is like a mini, outdoor community pantry. It's a publicly accessible structure that we keep stocked with various period products. The idea is simple: take what you need, leave what you can. It's built on trust and community support.

  • Our Blessing Box typically contains a variety of menstrual hygiene products, including:

    • Pads (various sizes)

    • Tampons (various absorbencies)

    • Panty liners

    • Feminine wipes

    • and more

  • Anyone in the community who needs period supplies can take items from the Blessing Box. There are no forms to fill out, no questions asked, and no eligibility requirements. It's here for you when you need it.

  • The Empowered Period Project Blessing Box is accessible 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Feel free to visit whenever you need supplies, day or night.

  • Simply walk up to the Blessing Box, open the door, and take the items you need. It's designed for discreet and easy access.

  • We deeply appreciate community support! You can donate new, unopened, and individually wrapped menstrual hygiene products by placing them directly into the Blessing Box when you visit. If you have a large donation or would like to contribute financially, please contact us directly at 910-606-4199 to arrange.

  • Yes, absolutely. Accessing items from the Empowered Period Project Blessing Box is completely anonymous and confidential. Your privacy is respected. We will have the Blessing Box at the back door, under the shelter.
